By: 0

Thank you for registering for the CFBH Open: Team Series! Though it is a Team Competition, there will still be individual awards to win!

WHAT’S NEW:

Individuals and Teams will earn “Reward Decals” that you iron on to your 2019 CFBH Open Shirts, to show off your personal and team achievements!

TURN YOUR SHIRT FROM THIS…TO THIS…

We are also offering an “Intermediate” level of the Open workout. The Open only offers an “RX” and “SCALED” level of workout to date. We will create something in between those two.

**If you are signed up for the OFFICIAL CROSSFIT OPEN, you must do the workout as RX or SCALED.**

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: WEEKLY

Each week, the Top 3 men and women in each Division (Rx, Intermediate, and Scaled), will be recognized each week after each workout.

Those Athletes will earn a metallic gold, metallic silver, or bronze iron-on Reward Decal to designate that accomplishment. That Reward Decal is to be placed on the right side of the shirt below the 2019 Open decal.

SAF AWARD:

Also each week, the CFBH Staff will elect 2-3 Athletes as the “Sweet As F*ck” award recipients. Each week during the Open, the SAF award is given to the Athletes whom exhibits the essence of CFBH is all about! Community, Effort, Determination, and Sportsmanship to name a few.

Winners of this award receive a hot pink Reward Decal of a Unicorn, to iron on above the CFBH logo.

These athletes also receive a custom Unicorn keychain to decorate their workout bag or car keys with.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: OVERALL

At the end of the 5-Week Open, there will be 5 OVERALL Divisions in the CFBH Open for individuals to compete in.

The 5 Individual divisions are:
Rx, Intermediate, Scaled, Mixed, and Masters

The order of Divisions is listed in order of prestige/difficulty.

Rx: completes all 5 workouts as RX

Mixed*: Completed the 5 workouts in 2 or more different divisions

Masters*: For Athletes 35yo+, using the mixed weighted calculations

Intermediate: Completed all 5 workouts as Intermediate

Scaled: Completed all 5 workouts as Scaled

*- For the Mixed and Masters Divisions, your workout scores will be weighted. Rx scores will be x1.5, Intermediate x1.25, and Scaled x1

Athletes are only allowed to podium in 1 overall category. They will earn the Reward Decals to iron-on below the left side of the CFBH Open Logo.

We’ll use last year’s 18.3 as an example…

100 double-unders
12 ring muscle-ups
100 double-unders
20 dumbbell snatches (50/35)
100 double-unders

Here’s the SCALED version of the workout

This would be the INTERMEDIATE version of the workout

(100 Double Unders reduced to 75, Ring Muscle-ups changes to Chest-to-Bar, OH Squat and DB weights reduced)

Workout 18.3 INTERMEDIATE
For Time: (14min Cap)
2 rounds:
75 double-unders
20 overhead squats (95/65)
75 double-unders
12 chest-to-bar pull-ups
75 double-unders
20 dumbbell snatches (45/30)
75 double-unders
12 chest-to-bar pull-ups

SCALING WITHIN A DIVISION POSSIBLE?

If you wish to remain in a certain division, but need to modify a portion of the workout (movement or weight), YOU CAN DO SO!!! You will, however, be ranked below all the other athletes in that division who did not modify the workout.**

For example: John is an RX athlete. The workout is 3 rounds of 10 Power Snatches (@135lbs) and 100 Double Unders. John cannot do double unders. So he modifies the Double Unders to 200 Singles. Regardless of John’s time, he will rank below all the other Athletes who were able to complete the workout as it was written.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE CHOOSE TO DO THIS?

This would allow John to stay in the overall RX division competition versus completing the workout in the Intermediate or Scaled division, while would now put him in the “Mixed” category.

OVERALL TEAM AWARDS

Throughout the 5 weeks, individuals on teams are working to earn points for their teams. Individual accomplishments, like a podium finish in a workout or earning a SAF award, are a way for an individual to help their team out.

Teams will also earn points based on how many of their Athletes completed the workout (regardless of the division), participation in Friday Night Lights (every Friday, from 4pm to 730pm), Team Spirit, or by bringing beers on their designated weeks, or bringing food to the potluck on their designated weeks.

Team points will be added at the end of the 5 weeks.

The Top 3 Teams, based on overall Team + Individual points, will earn the coveted “Team Series” Reward Decals. These decals are to be ironed on prominently at the top left of the shirt.

SO HOW DO WE EARN POINTS?!

Below is a breakdown of how points are earned.

WEEKLY SCORE ENTRY AND STANDING

Team Series Athletes will only get ONE CHANCE at this workout.

This workout will have to be completed on Friday only.

After each workout, the ATHLETE is responsible for submitting their score via a predesignated link (that will be announced).

The score submission deadline will 10am the following Saturday.

A submission received after 10am (regardless of the reason), will result in an INVALID SCORE. No points will be awarded to that Athlete or their team.
