CFBH will be kicking off EWS: Team Edition on Monday, January 8th!
For those who have participated in an EWS before, there are some changes to EWS! The Challenge is now 4-weeks, ending on Super Bowl Sunday, February 4th, 2018. The winners will be announced at the CFBH Super Bowl party!

WHAT IS EWS?
Eat,WOD, Stretch (EWS) is a 4-Week challenge following a Whole30 diet, daily workouts (not necessarily just CrossFit workouts), and Yoga daily.
Each day you’ll earn points for doing healthy things, and lose points for doing not so healthy ones. Each participant will get an EWS booklet to record their daily activities.
EWS: TEAM EDITION
This challenge you will get drawn onto teams via random lottery. The lottery will take place live online. Date TBA.
Team scores will be combined weekly, and accumulatively will be the Team’s overall score.
HOW IS YOUR EWS SCORE CALCULATED?
There are 3 components that make up your score
#1: Accountability (50%)
The accountability portion of this challenge is the most important part of your transformation. Whole30 diet is a “metabolic reset” where we restrict foods that are known to have negative inflammatory affects to our bodies. During the Whole30, you will refrain from eating any dairy, legumes, grains, sugar, and processed foods.

#2: Yoga (30%)
Everyday we see Athletes’ progress limited by poor range of movement. Adding yoga to your regular routine will make movement easier, along with lots of other benefits from spending time on your mat… too many to list! Your requirement to earn full points is to do 15min of Yoga DAILY! You earn extra points when you take Yoga at the gym on either Thursday evening (745p) or Sunday morning (9a). Both of these Yoga classes are included in EWS!
#3: Weekly Well-Being (20%)
Each week for 4 weeks, we will announce a different EWS challenges. These challenges are individual workouts. You and your team will have to complete the challenge for your weekly team workout score.
WILL WE TAKE BODY MEASUREMENTS?
Yes, we will measure:
- Waist (at your belly button)
- Hips (at the widest part of your buttock) #bigbooty
- Sit and Reach (Just like grade school, this measure your hamstring/low back flexibility
- Shoulder PVC Pass-Through: measures shoulder mobility/range of movement
These measurements, as well as Before and after pictures, are all optional, but recommended, so that you can see your improvement.
HOW MUCH WILL THE CHALLENGE COST?
Registration for the EWS challenge will be $50 per person, but register before January 5th (10am), 2018 and save $10! This will include two (2) free Yoga class per week at the gym, either 9am on Sundays, or 745pm on Thursdays, the EWS booklet, and a chance to win a free month at CFBH!
CAN MY FAMILY MEMBER DO THE CHALLENGE?
Non-CFBHers, friends, or family are allowed to Participate as well! The pricing will remain the same and include the Yoga classes during the challenge! Please let us know if you plan to have a family member join us for the challenge…we’ll make sure that we place them on your team. (Their scores will not be added to the Team scores).

We will need 4-5 Athletes to be Captains of their respective teams. The perk to being a Captain is that you can pick ANYONE to be added to your team. You will be the person communicating with your team and ensuring that everyone submits their scores online on time.

For the top overall Athlete, they will earn a Free Unlimited Month at CFBH.
We have a TEAM Prize for the top team this EWS. The winning team will get a “Team Experience” that will be announced at the start of the Challenge on January 8th .
EWS KICK-OFF EVENT ON SAT, DEC 30th, 1pm!
Jess and Nick will be hosting a kick-off event at their home this Saturday! We will have Whole30 compliant food (so you can see how easy and good it is) and some non-Whole30 compliant sips! 🙂 So come and learn more about the challenge, and let’s kick-off the New Year right!
